Introducing … my new Studio Assistant and right-hand WOMAN! Meet Bekah.
Since I started my photography business 10 years ago this June (I know! I can’t believe it either), Nathan and I have poured our (sometimes literal) blood, sweat and tears into it to make it the most perfect and customized experience for our clients. Every season we’ve navigated together, just the two of us, sometimes with a toddler in tow.
It’s been a big year for us.
We opened Esther Ziegler Studio and since then, I’ve worked to shift and almost reinvent my niche to focus exclusively on motherhood photography. I’ll write another post later about how incredibly passionate I am to serve this group of ladies and kiddos. I love to spoil some badass moms!
These changes have also forced me to admit to myself it’s finally time… time to bring on some help, time to offload.
I honestly feel like I owe it to myself, my family and my clients. I feel like I’ve earned the right to admit how I truly desire to spend my time. That I’m not a perfectionist when it comes to administrative work. That, at my core, I’m a creative who still gets excited to shoot her camera.
AHHH! It’s scary to admit when you’ve done everything, on your own, for a decade.
But the timing is right.
After my recent trip to The Motherhood Anthology Retreat, followed quickly by a series of what I see as divine circumstances, Bekah is joining our …. staff … (gulp) and bringing a wealth of skills that just might help me sleep better at night.
This change is also setting both Bekah and myself up to be more of the mothers we’ve always dreamed of being. Thank you, Jesus. It’s giving us more breathing room, a chance to be more present with our own families, but still allowing us to capture your beautiful organic heirloom moments.
Bekah is our new Studio Assistant, and will literally be helping me with … a little bit of everything. She has almost ten years of experience in public relations, marketing, social media management and administrative work. She loves authentic connection with people and creating organic atmospheres and experiences that facilitate it. Sounds familiar, right?!
She’ll most likely be the one you talk to when you inquire about booking a shoot, and she’ll also be helping a ton on social media.
We’ve been friends for a hot minute, but the more we’re together, the more we’re learning how we complement each other, both professionally, and as buddies. I promise, you’re gonna love her.
Follow her on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, if you’re feeling it. She just got a cute puppy and doesn’t hold back on the puppy posts.
(P.S. TODAY is a big day for Bekah … she’s celebrating 5 years of marriage to her hubby, Micah. Happy anniversary, Bek!)
I’m HONORED to give a helping hand to a woman that’s inspired me for years… Mrs. Esther Z! You’ll get to know me as her Studio Assistant and all-around “Girl Friday.”
When I say it’s my pleasure to get to know you, I really mean that. I find incredible fulfillment in connecting, loving and serving others.
Here’s a little about muah:
> I like old words and phrases, so terms like “girl Friday” are normal for me. My husband makes fun of me all the time, but I have an old soul. Ain’t ashamed!
> @Micah and I just celebrated 5 full years of marriage. Which seems crazy. But honestly, I’ve never lived in a world where I didn’t know him. We grew up together and we’re best friends first. Meant to be? I think so.
> I’ve lived in Springfield my whole life, so give me five minutes, and I will find how you and I are mutually connected. My 417 homies know what I’m talking about.
> You know this is coming … I’m a 4w5 on that Ennagram scale! Which fits. Nature speaks to me and comforts me. I value honesty and transparency. I seek truth. I love me some one-on-one convos. And I’m a true romantic at heart.
> This June, I welcome my first child … a beautiful baby girl! I need all the advice I can get, mamas. Help.
> My favorite local coffee? @Brick and Morter. Which happens to be two doors down from Esther’s Studio. Divine set-up? Tortuous temptation? Time will tell.
> Micah and I brought home our first King Charles Cavalier puppy a few weeks ago. I know, I’m crazy. And hormonal. But … I’m sorry. He is the SWEETEST, CUTEST, BESTEST little dude in the whole world. Bring on parenthood!
> Esther might be a true soul sister of mine. We both realized we listen to movie film scores in our free time, and lost our minds. Fellow 4’s, you know!
Good to meet you, friends. I’m sure I’ll be talking with you soon, but in the meantime, tell me something about yourself.
